Xerox message 202409 hope
An abstract exploration of analog synthesis, combining patterns, colors, and shapes that intermittently suggest objects and evoke a spatial atmosphere. The visuals are the result of an improvised session, where I was experimenting with live visuals using both analog and digital synthesizers. The piece captures the unpredictable nature of analog processes, with shifting patterns that create a sense of organic movement. While initially recorded as a test for further post-production, the footage took on a life of its own. The accidental inclusion of a radio podcast, recorded during the process, became an unexpected soundtrack element, turning what was meant to be a silent draft into a layered audiovisual piece. This unplanned fusion of visuals and sound highlights how a mistake can evolve into an integral part of the final artwork. The light editing and the raw narrative of the video, despite its imperfections, subtly express a sense of hope—born from the idea that even unintentional moments can shape something meaningful.
Tools: the video was produced using a combination of analog and digital synthesizers (Hypno, Mainbow, TrinsRGB+1c, mixed with Edirol-V4), with additional footage captured in real-time during visual practice sessions (OBS). The editing process was kept minimal, using basic digital editing software to combine improvised elements (Kdenlive).
